Raffles City Chaotianmen Chongqing is the largest single development of Capitaland with 1.12 million m² GFA in China.  This development comprises of eight towers of super high-rise abut a retail podium of 235,000m² well integrated with the Intercontinental Hotel, luxury residential apartment, Ascott serviced residence and Grade A office.

This massive road closure plan was based on the vast local experience of the Chongqing traffic police as well as the well-prepared traffic proposal and analysis including the diversion of traffic at Cao Jia Xiang by using a micro-simulation software UAF for detail checking and presentation to the Chongqing Planning Bureau and the Principal Traffic Team of Traffic Police. The Chongqing Raffles City at Chaotianmen commenced design in 2012 and the soft opening was launched only some 7.5 years after in 2019 and finally to full completion in 2020. It is indeed another wonder of major achievement when compared with the over 20 years design and construction period in the normal process elsewhere.
